Mr. Miles Preston

I feel like I should blog a little about Miles' birth...and then don't worry...there will be a lot of pictures to follow! It was an amazing day...April 4, 2012 will definitely be a day that I won't forget...ever! We started our day by getting ready at our hotel and running to Walmart for a few things (like snacks!) that we thought we might need in the next few days. Then we had to report to the hospital with Heather at 9:45...at 10:00 a.m. they started hooking her up to the monitors and it was so neat to hear Mile's heartbeat one more time before he was born (we got to hear it when we traveled down in February too!). We also got to feel him move...what an active little guy he was! And then we just waited and waited and waited for 12:00 to come around. Right around 12 they came to get her and they asked if we wanted to watch from the little window of the OR...since Heather was okay with it we jumped at the chance to watch our son be born...we've never been able to do that and so it was such a neat experience...thank you again Heather! :) Around 12:25 they brought us in and we stood there and just watched and waited for him to make his arrival...the nurse counted down for us with her fingers...3, 2, 1...and then they were lifting him out! So so amazing...12:34 p.m. was the official time and I told Jon...look...he was born at 1234! :) After that we just waited for him to get weighed and cleaned up and for them to finish up with Heather...that part we didn't watch! haha! I couldn't believe when the nurse showed me through the window that his weight was 6 lb 15 oz...we all thought he was going to be over 8! And he was only 20"...we thought at least 22 :) After about a half hour they brought Mr. Miles (who didn't have a name at that time) to our room and it was such a special time...reminded us of when they wheeled Natalee in for the first time...there were lots of tears for sure! :) After looking at him for awhile we decided that he looked like two different names...and so we went and asked Heather which one she liked best and Miles became his name. Preston is a family name for Heather (her grandpa, brother and son all have that middle name) and so we wanted to do that for her :) The funniest thing was that Miles wasn't even on our list...it was a name that I have liked for awhile and so when I brought it up I thought Jon would shoot it down...but he actually liked it :) hahaha! So Miles Preston Feldman it is :) After that we just had a great 2 days in the hospital doing all the newborn stuff that you get to do and having lots of visits with Heather. It really was a great couple of days...we will never forget them :) And now...onto the pictures :)

Last belly picture before she had to change into her gown :)

Here he is!! The nurse came and grabbed my camera and boy am I glad she did...she got some great shots! And Heather's mom took my other one...unfortunately I forgot my charger for that one and the battery died as they were looking through the pictures so I haven't seen any from that camera....and the memory stick doesn't work in this computer so I'll just have to wait until we get home to see those pictures! :)

One more shot of him coming out!

Our beautiful birthmom!! It was an emotional day for all of us! :) But good emotions :)

Our first up close look at Miles :) I love this picture :)

And Heather getting to see Miles :)

This picture looks so much like a picture we have of Emmalee

Looks like he was happy! haha! :)

First time Jon got to hold Miles :) I always let him hold first so I can take a picture :)

We don't have a picture of both of us looking at the camera at the same time so I picked the one where I was looking! hahaha!

Getting his first bath by nurse Robyn

He loves getting his hair combed...and he loved laying under the heat lamp :)

Heather and Miles...she took this picture with her camera on her phone...I love it!

All of us :)

The doctor that delivered Miles

Ready to go home! I gotta put his going home outfit on him again and get a picture of him in it...it was so stinkin' cute!!

First bottle at "home"

Wow! That was a lot of pictures huh! Well I did another post too...so you'll have to look below for that one :) Enjoy!!

What we've been up to so far....

Hi there! So you get two posts in one day! Crazy!!! We've been having a great time in Georgia getting to know our new little guy and seeing some of the touristy stuff around here. Today we were able to go to St. Simon Island...what a fun place...we want to go back and have a beach day if we can :) We'll see what happens :) One of the highlights for me today was going to Southern Soul Barbeque...shortly before we came down I happen to see this joint on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and the whole time I watched that show I was hungry. Let's just say that it didn't disappoint! Mom...you don't even know good ribs...these ribs were the best!! If I could bring some back for you I would!!! Well I'll wrap this up and let you just enjoy the pictures :) Hope you all have a wonderful Easter!! It's amazing that we have a Savior that would die for us so that we, as imperfect as we are, can live with Him forever someday! His wonders and love never cease to amaze me!! Only through Him can we be saved...and He made it so easy for us...so how come we make it so hard for ourselves sometimes?! Thank you Lord Jesus for the Cross!

Urgh...it's so hard being this cute! :)

Miles before his first big trip to Walmart :) We were able to get a place that has a full kitchen so we went to get a few groceries for our stay down here

Bad picture of me but I wanted to share Miles after his first bath...he didn't like getting his body washed but loved it when I washed his hair! I've had years of practice! hahaha!

This looks like the stork that brought us Miles! hahaha! These birds must be so used to people...they hardly moved! Right after this we saw dolphins swimming in the ocean...that was pretty neat!

See that big bridge in the background?!? We went over that...would that have scared you Annette?!?

Southern Soul...featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives!

My little lanky boy with his Mohawk! :) We had to go to Target tonight to get him a few outfits...everything I brought just swims on him...plus I didn't have an Easter outfit for him and I decided I wanted one :)

Mmmm...bubba! Love his eyes!

Last but not least we tried to do a few newborn shots tonight but he didn't want to cooperate...we'll try a different time but these were a couple that turned out pretty cute :)

Again...what have we been up to...

...playing, playing, playing...and packing, packing, packing!! :) Do you see I kept with the same theme as the last post! :) It has been so nice here in Minnesota (well the last few days have been a little on the cooler side) that we have had to take all the chances we can get and get outside...which has lead to some pretty tired kiddos!

We also received some pretty fun dress up clothes from the little girl next door so we have had fun with those too! Here is Natalee in her "Rella" dress :)

I love how she was hiking up her skirt so I could see her light up princess shoes :) They are pretty fun...so thank you Jolee and Amy!!

We have also been chewing on anything that we can get our hands on...which is nuks, toys, mom, blankets....the list goes on and on! He is so drooly right now I can hardly stand it! hahaha! But those teeth still have not popped through...I'm sure they will when we are gone...isn't that how it always goes! ha!

Here is Bennett in his sisters John Deere hat...she was sharing it with him...she has gotten quite attached to the hat and has to hang it up behind the back door like daddy does when she comes inside! I think I have a little farmer girl on my hands :) I'm surprised I don't have a picture of her with her hat on!

We also got to go to Build a Bear and make Bennett's and new baby's heartbeat bears :) I was so happy when we went to Georgia that we were able to go to a doctors appointment and hear the baby's heartbeat...and I was so happy that Heather allowed me to record the heartbeat so I could put it into the bear for baby...with both Natalee and Bennett we had to wait to record their heartbeats after they were born...which is still very cool...they are still really fast sounding...just a lot louder! haha!

Natalee was a good helper and Ole even came up to be a part of the festivities :) And in case you all haven't heard, Ole is going to be a big brother come August (or maybe September...just depending on baby!) so we had to pick up another recorder so Britt can take it with to her next doctors appointment :) It was also my mom's birthday so we had a fun day of shopping and lunch after we made our bears :)

Not a great picture of Natee but Ole sure looks cute so I had to use it :) Sorry Natee! :)

And since you don't know the gender of the baby yet I can't show you the finished product :) You'll just have to wait!!

Speaking of waiting...not much time left for us to wait anymore...the delivery date is coming up quick and we are so excited!! We are busy packing and trying to figure out what we are going to need down there...but thank goodness there is a Walmart very near and so if we forget anything we can surely find it there ;) And looking at the poll it looks like most of you think it's going to be a girl...we'll just have to wait and see if you are right :) If you haven't placed your guess there is still time...it would be fun to hit 100!

Well I better close this up...it's late and we are celebrating Easter tomorrow with Jon's family! I'll have to post pictures of that soon...and I took Bennett's 6 month pictures so if I get a chance to work on them before I go I'll get them up here too! Okay...Happy Palm Sunday tomorrow! Oh...and I guess it's April Fools too...you'll have to let me know if you pulled any good pranks...so far I have nothing planned...we'll see how the day ends! hahaha!

What have we been up to...

...one word...PAPERWORK! Paperwork, Paperwork, Paperwork. When you do adoption there is a lot of paperwork to fill out...and boy am I wishing that I had taken copies of it last time :) It would have made my job this time around so much easier since all of our answers are the same as they were just 8 months ago. But all the paperwork is so worth it because it means we are bringing a baby into our home very soon :) We are so excited for this new little one we can hardly stand it! Time seems to be moving quick and slow all at the same time! ha! But by Thursday of this week all the paperwork should be in and our homestudy should be complete so that is very exciting! Also on Thursday we get to go to the courthouse and make Bennett's adoption final! We finally got our report to court date and we are so happy that it is finally here!He is already our son but it's just nice to get all the final paperwork (there's that word again!) wrapped up and have the judge sign off! I'll be sure to post pictures from that day as well! Let's see...what else have we been up too...

we have been sneaking in some naps with daddy when we can...I just thought this picture was way too cute not to share with you...Jon will probably thank me for it :) ha! Bennett has been so drooly lately that he has had to wear a bib all the time now. I don't know if he's cutting teeth or what but the drool can stop any day now :) Bennett has also started to sit up on his own! He's such a strong little guy...his stomach muscles are incredible! I think he's going to be athletic for sure! We've also been...

playing dress up! Here's Natalee with her tutu on her head...I'm pretty sure her cousin Lily is the one that did this to her :) I thought she looked so cute with her "veil" on and her shades :)

We also got to have Ole and grandma come one afternoon for a play date...the kids had so much fun together...Natee got this little table from Grandma and Grandpa for her birthday and she is really loving it. She likes to color a lot...and she mostly keeps it on the paper :) We've had to have a few time-outs for coloring on the walls...she's funny...she will do it and then she'll come and get me and point to what she does and say "no-no" and then for awhile afterwards every time she goes past the spot (even though it's been cleaned up) she'll still say "no no"...thank goodness for washable crayons and Mr. Eraser!

Here they are saying "what do you want?!" hahahaha! Let's see...what else have we been up to....

we've been hanging in our swing! Bennett loves to swing (and Natee hated the swing...well...maybe not hated but she didn't want to spend more than 2 minutes in it!) The other day I caught him just hanging out like this...looks like it is time to start putting the safety belt on him! haha! Both kids just went in for their checkups (another part of the paperwork...they both had to get physicals) and both of them did great. Natee was right around the 50th percentile for everything and Bennett was just a little above that for all of his stuff. All in all they are healthy kids, which we thank God for every day! They are both such a blessing to us and we can't imagine our lives without them...and we can't wait to give them a new sibling soon...life in the Feldman house will be busy but oh so blessed! Well...I'd better wrap this up and go to bed...hope you liked the little update! :)

New Look!

Hey there! I decided it was time for a new look...I needed to add Bennett and Oliver to the side bar (and soon a new baby!)...plus I needed to add the poll! So go start placing your guesses!! :) Anyway...hope you like the new look...still not sure about this font...I'm thinking it might be hard to read...but I'm going to try it for a few days....let me know what you all think :) Okay...it's late and I need to go to bed :) Hope you all have a great Thursday! I'll update more later!

I've got Georgia on my mind!

Why is that you ask? I'll get to that in a second...but first of all...who ever says Minnesota nice has never been to southern Georgia...oh my goodness those people are nice. I've never been treated so good at a restaurant or anywhere for that matter. They were so helpful and always saying "yes ma'm". As you can guess Jon and I were in Georgia this past week...well from Wednesday to Sunday...and even though it hasn't been a bad winter in Minnesota it was so nice getting off the plane to 75 degrees and sunny and palm trees! :) And why Georgia you ask...why is Georgia on my mind?!?! Well...it's because my baby is down there...growing in his or her birthmom's tummy! What?! Did you read that right?! Yes you did!!!!! Can you even begin to believe it??!!???!!?? I know that I sure couldn't when Heather first got ahold of us via e-mail. Here we were grieving the loss of Oliver...and then we get this e-mail from a lady in Georgia wondering if we would like to adopt her baby (and by the way...we do know if this baby is a boy or a girl...but we are choosing to keep it a secret from all of you blog readers....just for fun!! So...when I get a poll going on the side of the blog you'll have to start placing your bets!). We really didn't even have to think about it...of course we would love to! So we made plans to travel down to meet her. Let me just tell you...we had a blast! We all hit it off right away and we even were able to go to a doctors appointment and feel the baby move and hear the heartbeat...it was so cool...thank you again Heather for that! It meant the world to us to be able to do that! Anyway...we spent a lot of time hanging out with Heather and her family, her son, her friends, and even with the birthdad. It was a great time getting to know everyone and again...thank you all for making us feel so welcome :) We cannot wait to go back in April to spend time with them again and to meet our new baby :) I'll have more details on all of that later when the time gets closer and we know more of the details of when the baby will be born (it's going to be a c-section so we are lucky that it can be scheduled so we can be there when he/she is born!!) :) Okay...I feel like if I keep writing I'm just going to start babbling because I am so tired...but I am so excited about our news that I just wanted to share it with you all before I go to bed tonight :) And again...thank you Heather...we loved meeting you and getting to know you...thanks for hanging out with us...and thank you Nick...we loved meeting you too and spending time with you as well. You are giving us an awesome gift and we are so grateful. Always and forever! We can't wait to see y'all again in April!!!

Here we are in Savannah with Heather (and baby of course!)...we love Georgia!!!
